As a photographer, I make a point to never go into a shoot knowing exactly how I am going to light or pose someone. I do this because every face, every body, and every person is unique. It is my job to decide the lighting and posing based off of which combination expresses who they are the most.
As an artist, I make it a priority to make people feel comfortable enough to show me what is behind their eyes, not just what we see of them on the surface.
This is what sets me apart from many other photographers, because when I take a portrait, my goal is not to capture a person’s physicality, it is to capture what is inside their heart.
